Bacchus Would Approve
There is so much that draws visitors to the rolling hills of the Temecula Valley, the romantic setting, the fabulous festivals, the great restaurants, Spa getaways and much, much more – but if there is one thing more than any other that inspires first-timers to come explore the Valley and keeps them coming back – quite often packing house and relocating! – it’s the wine. Temecula Valley wines can be bought in wine shops all around California, but there is something special about taking a weekend or longer and touring the wineries one by one. Meeting the proud owners, building a rapport with them and, of course, eagerly sampling the fruits of their labor. What else makes tasting at the winery such a great experience? Aside from barrel tastings (you can’t do that at your local wine shop!), many wineries also offer beautifully scenic picnic areas or gourmet sit-down meals, some offer lodging, are available for weddings, arrange special events throughout the year and of course the best part is, you have to opportunity to indulge in tasting so many new wines before deciding which you need to stock up on! Don’t let this extensive Winery Directory overwhelm you! They aren’t going anywhere and bit by bit, Sunday by sunny Sunday they are all truly worth getting to know. Some will simply be a fun one-time affair, whilst others will become favorites to return to time and time again. Especially since each winery grows and matures as time continues its inexorable ebb and flow over these sun-drenched hills and the vintages follows suit with good years and great years, you may soon find yourself sipping a 2017 Cab whilst chatting with the proprietor – who may have also become your friend in the meantime – about your fond memories of his 2014 Merlot. The years will pass in any case, shouldn’t we treat ourselves to the best of their bottled essence?
