The More You Learn, The More You’ll Love Temecula!

If you didn’t come to Temecula for the art and culture we understand – it’s not the first thing to come to mind when heading our way. First you think of wine, then hot air balloons, scenery, golf, music, festivals, casinos, weddings, shopping…. then maybe you’ll try clicking on Local Temecula Culture: Museums, Fine Art and Theatre – but a surprise awaits you here!

Temecula actually has some great museums! And not just for adults – kids (and their parents and grandparents) will absolutely love Pennypickle’s Workshop Children’s Museum – winner of the Nickelodean’s Parents’ Pick Award for two consecutive years and a fantastic space in which kids get to learn through playing! They get to do fun experiments, learn the science of Harry Potter and so much more. Parents are usually welcome – but some events are for kids only and parents are sent off for a romantic dinner or even just a sunset stroll about town while the little ones indulge in treasure hunts and the funnest learning experience ever. For more info call 951-308-6376  or email: phineas@pennypickles.org

Another great museum for the whole family is the Temecula Museum, which documents the city’s long and fascinating history through photos, artifacts, cultural items and more. There are picnic facilities and a children’s playground on-site, so stop off at one of your favorite Temecula deli’s, wine bars or restaurants for supplies! Call (951) 694-6452 for more info.

This contemporary, state-of-the-art theater in the heart of Old Town exemplifies the City of Temecula’s motto “Old Traditions, New Opportunities.” The Theater has two performance venues: a 361-seat theater that guarantees that every seat is the best seat in the house, and the 48-seat Club at the Merc, which is a club-style theatrical space with superb acoustics. Art is Food For the Soul
There is a thriving little art community in Temecula – you’re sure to find offerings from local artists in many shops, wine bars and restaurants around town. This is no surprise given the cocktail of tranquility and iconic scenery that the area mixes and pours for its residents – anyone with an artistic bent is unavoidably inspired! You may come across one of the many respected local artists intent on capturing a scene anywhere from a streetcorner to a park, sitting beside some roadside horse corrals or enshrouded within the beautiful landscaping of one of the many breathtaking wineries. Of course there are also a few dedicated, high-quality art galleries in which to browse though local, national and international pieces.

While you’re exploring the town why not stop in to The Art Walk Gallery or Art Diaspora?
